Steven Furtick is the pastor of North Carolina’s Elevation Church. He is also what is known in religious parlance as a minister of the “prosperity gospel.” Translation: Furtick preaches that God wants everyone to be wealthy, but first his congregation is duty-bound to make him rich.

Furtick faced intense scrutiny after building a 16,000-square-foot home on 19 acres valued at $1.6 million. Church officials claim the house only cost Furtick $325,000.

There is a book he should read and a guy who’s teaching he should follow. The book is called a Bible and the guy is Jesus, if he wants to preach it is beneficial to him to know deeply about those two topics.

Not sure I understand, joke as in a Preacher should know what Jesus preached of the true word of the Bible? I am no longer a church member, but I did study the Bible and no where in it did I read a preacher should live royally, as a matter of fact, the preacher should live as piously and give all to those who have nothing.

And few do read it. Even the clergy often has never read the whole bible. Likely most christians, they read from a ‘suggested readings’ list that avoids the bad parts and the scary parts.

This guy has a great scam going on. However, it’s not his fault that there are idiots who give him money.
