Christians Angry That Starbucks’ Cups Are Too Secular

Posted by | November 9, 2015 08:50 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Religion

The minimalist red cup design is somehow taking way religious liberty.

…some Christian customers feel the coffee chain is oppressing their religion. In a viral Facebook post, one gruff-voiced customer dressed like Fred Durst circa 1999 wrote, “Starbucks REMOVED CHRISTMAS from their cups because they hate Jesus,” then brags about “pranking” Starbucks by having them write “Merry Christmas” as his name on the cup. He also flashes a gun he brought into the coffee shop, disregarding Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz’ request that customers no longer bring firearms into their stores, even in states where open carry is permitted.

If Starbucks was actually trying to eliminate all signs of the holidays from their stores, why would they still be producing their popular Christmas blend along with seasonal favorites such as Gingerbread Latte and the beloved Peppermint Mocha?

It’s good to know we can depend on the annual “War on Christmas.” Tell these assholes who want Jesus on everything to go to Hobby Lobby and buy some Christmas Crap made in China.

Think this is bad, some people in Charlotte started a change.org petition to get their Christmas Tree back into the Southgate mall……

      • Larry Schmitt November 9th, 2015 at 09:23

Seems to me that would be up to the owners of the mall. Why didn’t they contact them?

        • EmmanuelKShannon November 9th, 2015 at 09:49

I don’t know but they got what they wanted so I doubt they care.

A ‘Holiday tree’ negates the SCOTUS secular requirement for equal displays of a chanukah bush, a Buddha bush, and who knows even a Palin bush displayed.

These are the same people who complained that the GOP candidates shouldn’t be asked questions about trivial matters like fantasy football.

    • Obewon November 9th, 2015 at 09:21

GOP don’t want their merry charlatans swindled to know 80% of Fantasy Football winnings are won by just 1.3% of their betters.

The more these folks push their claims, the more folks will push back…and they wonder why Attendance has fallen off….I WILL NOT LIVE IN A THEOCRACY…but unless Ted Cruz is given the boot, it can happen….

…which brings up another Christian “whine”. Why isn’t the cross on the asses of all the Depends brand adult diapers?

      • Suzanne McFly November 9th, 2015 at 17:58

If they put rush’s face on those things they would pull the poop out of you. It would be the best laxative for a liberal ever made, but we would dehydrate quick. lol

I think they are trying in their own stumbelbum Xristian way to start the “War on Xristians” they are always talking about by being obnoxious 24/7.

For the love of all things great and small, there is no satisfying the perpetually retarded. ” We don’t like their coffee cups, WAR on Christmas! ” Psssst. it’s just a coffee cup, not the end of the world nor war on Christmas, juuuuuust a coffee cup.

starbucks is one of many coffee shops who don’t advertise merry xmas before thanksgiving

either grow a brain or buy a calendar

Jesus was no coward that needed to carry a gun into a starbucks to feel manly. He went after the money changers in the temple and didn’t need a single weapon to do it- other than knowing it was a necessary and just cause to take on the greedy money changing bastards. (banksters and billionaires of our modern day). I have no idea where christians like this come from- but obviously the church is failing in teaching them anything meaningful and worthwhile? PS. Screw starbucks and their Monsanto ties, get off your lazy butt and make your own coffee, save some money doing it. Or better yet dump coffee altogether and drinks something healthy? Christians – “so called”. Grow up and stop whining about non-existent fake issues you feel threatened by. Make jesus proud by learning to love other human beings like he taught us.

Nothing said about Druids , we feel so left out

  14. Dwendt44 November 9th, 2015 at 18:19

The owner of Starbucks is Jewish, so he likely doesn’t care about christmas anyway.

    Christianists have ruined Christianity.

    • fahvel November 10th, 2015 at 04:09

it was destroyed the day saul/paul started using his business school degree to get rich – fortunately the roamans didn’t let him collect personally and now the world is paying for his greed.

  16. Chris November 9th, 2015 at 21:45

Sheesh. If you’re looking to a coffee shop to validate your Christian religion, you have waaaaay to much time on your hands.

And absolutely no idea of what Christianity is supposed to be about.

What’s next? Urging your congressman to form a House Un-Christian Activities Committee?

This year I have made 72,000 dollars so far with my pc and I am a university student . I am linked with a business entity that outsource online jobs . I heard about it previous year and now I have made a great cash . It is very friendly to it’s users and I am just so happy to have that option …..

  18. bpollen November 10th, 2015 at 04:28

Their coffee sucks, but Christians suffer from the vapors over their cups?

  19. granpa.usthai November 11th, 2015 at 00:51

    ok,
starbucks prints up biblical pictures of baby jesus, 3 wise men from the east (factual fantasy) mother, father, shepherds, and a democrat donkey (no republican elephant?) and Santa Claus.

    now comes the urination emergency

what to do with the empty religious icon cup?
