If you’ve watched any of the GOP Presidential debates, you no doubt encountered one name being tossed around more than any other: Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States. To Republicans, Reagan is on a par with Jesus if you count how many times they refer to both.

Yet if you ask most Americans who they feel is the greatest of the ex-Presidents, they name one man more than any other, and it’s a man the GOP loves to vilify whenever they can: Jimmy Carter…..READ MORE at LiberalAmerica

Most likely due to President Carter dedicating his life after office to helping others, a true Christian.

The right wing’s sick hatred of President Carter is one of, if not the main reason that in my opinion all of the conservative talk about how they have so much respect for family values is a steaming pile of horsesh*t.

President Carter is a farmer, a devout Christian, a dedicated family man and a military veteran who graduated from the Naval Academy. He has dedicated his life after leaving office to helping the poorest people here at home and monitoring elections abroad to guarantee the process is as far as possible. He spreads democracy without killing anybody.

He is everything that right wingers pretend to admire, yet they hate the man with a passion.

They feel the same way about their poster boy Jesus, they use him to get votes while hating everything about him…they hate Carter for the same reason, it gets them the votes of all the most miserable aholes in the country.

carter is a good choice in recent years but i go further back to find the best or most productive if you will

I think the choice was limited to living ex-presidents.

The gopee can’t stand a man of integrity that practices what he preaches….still building habitats for humanity

Imagine that, the right hates a man who is a true Christian as they are wearing their religion on their sleeves to gain favors for it.

The polls was a bit unfair , just look what Carter was up against

It’s a safe bet that Carter is #3 on the most hated (by the GOP) list of former or current presidents. I’m pretty sure they hate Clinton and Obama more.
Never mind that we are still suffering under Reaganomics.

Who would vote for Reagan as an ex-president anyway?
He had dementia so bad all he did was watch TV and sleep.

Carter is admired for his selfless efforts to improve the lives of disadvantaged families in the years since he left office.
Meanwhile, GW Bush is recognized for … painting dogs.

James Earl Carter, Jr. is a class act. Most presidents get involved in building their eponymous libraries. Jimmie gets involved in Habitat for Humanity. Actions speak the loudest.

I have to chuckle when I hear Ben Carson supporters say that it’s Ben Carson’s greatest asset. When you ask them about Jimmy Carter they say he is weak. Jimmy Carter was railroaded by the dishonest GOP operatives selling weapons behind congresses back and funding a covert war and they see that as a plus for Ronald Reagan. It is hypocrisy to the highest degree.
