Boehner Used ‘Catholic Guilt’ To Get Ryan To Run For Speaker

Posted by | November 1, 2015 20:30 | Filed under: Politics

John Boehner used the Catholic guilt card to get Paul Ryan to seek the House speakership.

Asked by CNN’s Dana Bash what he told Ryan, Boehner was frank: “Well first, I laid every ounce of Catholic guilt I could on him.” In other words, Boehner said, God wanted Ryan to run for Speaker.

“Listen, Paul was the right guy at the right time,” Boehner added. “I knew he didn’t want to do it. … But it was obvious to me that he was the right person for the job. And I had to do everything I could to convince him.”

What does it say about congress when no one wants to be the speaker and you can only get someone to serve through guilt or threats…???

I knew he didn’t want to do it.

And by his own admission, he’s not going to do it. He’s going to collect almost a quarter million dollars a year of taxpayer money to not do his f*cking job.
