Gunshots Fired In Ferguson

Things turned ugly late last night in Ferguson, Missouri, on the first anniversary of the killing of Michael Brown:[A] gunman who opened fire on four plainclothes officers in an SUV suffered the most serious reported injury so far.

The police returned fire and hit the male suspect, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said at a news conference early Monday. The shooter was in critical, unstable condition after the shootout, Belmar said.

Police officers respond to shots fired during a protest march on August 9, 2015 on West Florissant Avenue in Ferguson, Missouri.

The shooting was a “tragedy,” but the suspect and others firing guns near the anniversary demonstration “were criminals, they weren’t protesters,” Belmar told reporters.

“There is a small group of people out there that are intent on making sure that we don’t have peace that prevails,” he said.

Tyrone Harris told a reporter from the St. Louis Post Dispatch that his son, 18-year-old Tyrone Harris Jr., was the wounded suspect. Harris went to Normandy High School with Michael Brown and the pair “were real close,” his father said.

8/9/2015 3:20 pmEDT: Shots were fired Sunday afternoon while people marched to a church in Missouri’s Ferguson to commemorate the anniversary of Michael Brown’s death, Reuters reported. eating a pig outside a police station is nothing more the aggitation and an intentional insult.

I like the eyeballs and brain the tongue’s not bad a little chewy. Think it makes up for the decades of insult and disrespect the cops showed the people of Ferguson?

I disagree, what should have been a dignified and righteous demonstration devolved into childish actions and insults from the demonstrators.

A “drive-by shooting,” “…unrelated to the march!?” All things considered, it seems to fit right in. Gangsta-culture at work.

      there you go.

Now when self proclaimed “not racist” greenfloyd said “gangsta-culture”, he’s obviously, CLEARLY referring to the 29% of the white folk that live in Ferguson.

        • greenfloyd August 10th, 2015 at 22:36

No doubt some of that 29% are involved in Gangsta-culture, most as consumers of the many products they can’t get anywhere else… makes it an important economic lifeline to many of that remaining 71%.

a few ruin what is a peaceful protest that is bout dignity and respect.

    • greenfloyd August 10th, 2015 at 23:31

I don’t think it ruined the daytime action, which was uneventful from what little of it I saw. The BLM anniversary march in memory of Michael Brown (RIP) was reported as an “unrelated” event. In a politically-correct world that’s probably true, yet in Gangsta-culture, a drive-by shooting is business as usual.

The drive-by is an other inconvenient truth about the toxic environment in Ferguson MO and so many other places where govt has no real control of the drugs and guns markets on the street.

always a racist, you are very disgusting

        • greenfloyd August 11th, 2015 at 22:28

Of course the daytime drive-by was just a little Gangsta-culture tease, except for the poor guy who was shot… I believe the shooters are still free, BTW.
Now for the main event as we watch Ferguson sink deeper and deeper into the quicksand of lawlessness, murder and mayhem.
If pointing this out makes me a “racist” so be it.
          Nonetheless I still forgive you.

If I were a police officer in Ferguson I would spend my working hours at a local diner, eating doughnuts and drinking coffee……maybe help pick up the bodies at the end of the day……
