Obama: Iranian Hardliners ‘Making Common Cause’ With Republicans

Posted by | August 5, 2015 14:00 | Filed under: Politics

President Obama points out that Iranian hardliners opposing the nuclear deal have much in common with the Republican caucus.

“I recognize the resorting to force may be tempting in the face of rhetoric and behavior that emanates from some parts of Iran,” the president said of such anti-American sentiments. “It is offensive. It is incendiary. We do take it seriously. But superpowers should not act impulsively in response to taunts. Or even provocations that can be addressed short of war.”

“Just because Iranian hardliners chant ‘Death to America’ does not mean that’s what all Iranians believe,” Obama continued. “In fact, it’s those those hardliners who are most comfortable with the status quo. It’s those hardliners chanting ‘Death to America’ who have been most opposed to the deal. They are making a common cause with the Republican caucus.”

Unlike those “hardliners,” Obama said that the “majority of the Iranian people have powerful incentives to urge their government to move in a different, less provocative direction — incentives that are strengthened by this deal.”

“We should offer them that chance,” he said. “We should give them the opportunity.” If it succeeds, Obama added, “that would be good for Iran and good for the United States. It would be good for a region that is known for too much conflict and would be good for the world.”

I know this is driving him nuts. He is forced to address Congress and tell them to not stick their tongues out to the extremists in Iran and he is asking Iran to also not stick out their tongues to our little brats in Congress. Some days he is a preschool teacher and other days he is the leader of the free world.

Another episode to exemplify why I’m proud of my President.

He has thought and acted like a grownup since he came to office. Unlike the opposition.

What Obama said is true, a while back i saw an documentary on Iran, a lot of young people wanted to live like America but the old school leaders wanted to stay angry at America and because of that, things were not getting any better for Iran! Just like here plenty of old People still hold on to their old racist, hatred and bitterness towards those not like them! SAD!

Hey republicans, how about sending your sons or volunteering
yourselves to fight a war in Iran? I can’t understand why
some people feel the need to fight before giving diplomacy
a chance to work, not one more soldier should die in the
middle east because of the GOP’s need to prove to the world
    how tough we are.
