FRC: Obama Trying To ‘Eliminate’ Christianity

Posted by | July 1, 2015 07:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

The Family Research Center is using the Supreme Court decision on gay marriage to raise money “before it is literally too late.”

“[S]ame-sex ‘marriage’ is not the ultimate issue,” FRC President Tony Perkins warns in the email, “it is a stepping-stone. The real issue is the Obama administration’s dogged determination to eliminate anything and everything that stands in the way of the President’s radical agenda. Silence dissent. And to do that, you punish speech — and belief.”

“Orthodox Christianity’s truth doesn’t change,” he adds, “and as long as we remain tethered to this transcendent, unchangeable truth, we are a problem for them. If you can’t change it, you must eliminate it. Which is what they are seeking to do.”

“With the Supreme Court ruling to redefine marriage, things are going to get rough for Christians in America,” he writes, comforting his flock by quoting Jesus’ warnings to his disciples about persecution.

    The Phony Family Research Council.

    • rg9rts July 1st, 2015 at 08:39

Is that anything like the Palin family values???

      • Warman1138 July 1st, 2015 at 08:40

        Yep, phony.

      • The Original Just Me July 1st, 2015 at 12:06

The Palin family is all Screwed Up, or down, or anyway. Just Do It.

    “Tony, take a number.

“First, all of the guns need to be gathered up. That’s going kinda slowly right now. Then ISIS needs to complete sneaking across the border from Mexico.

“Obama, being the weak dictator that he is, can only do so much at one time. Can we pencil you in for maybe the last couple months of his administration for Christianity to be outlawed?”

    • Larry Schmitt July 1st, 2015 at 07:26

He may have to delegate that to his successor. I’m not sure he has enough time left. Unless, of course he can be re-elected for a third term.

      • The Original Just Me July 1st, 2015 at 12:05

If the Supreme Court can fix an election for G.W. they can do it for Pres. Obama.

    • Sally July 1st, 2015 at 13:21

      No, do it first!

  3. Larry Schmitt July 1st, 2015 at 07:31

When the court “redefined” marriage, did they eliminate this definition? “any close or intimate association or union: the marriage of words and music in a hit song.”

  4. AnthonyLook July 1st, 2015 at 07:59

Our Constitution prohibits racism, bigotry, sexism, prejudice, discrimination, intolerance, hate…and other practices of unequality. These fascist theocratic bent racist fake christians and their racist Obama derangement making up all this ridiculous fear mongering predictions only prove one thing with their rhetoric——their desperateness to prove their lack of their fake religion’s religious validity. Their religious practices, their fake christian fundamentalist rooted cults of racism, sexism, bigotry—- do not speak for all the True Christians in America that do not harbor prejudice, discrimination, or intolerance.

  5. TiredOldGuy July 1st, 2015 at 08:06

A church can sanctify a marriage for its members, but you need that government form to make it legal. I doubt that any LGBTs will be heading to a church that condemns them.
Also, I’ve never seen an instance of a gay firebombing a religious institution, or beating up a minister because of his/her religion, or forcing a Christian into some kind of reparative therapy. They are not a threat to your beliefs, why are you so terrified of them?

    • Larry Schmitt July 1st, 2015 at 08:15

That’s why their claims of “infringement of religious liberties” is so phony. Gays getting married doesn’t affect them. Any gay couple who wants to get married can find a church that will welcome them, and the bigots will be left alone, poor things.

      • Dwendt44 July 1st, 2015 at 11:59

And, since this is a secular country under a secular constitution, you don’t even need a minister or priest to get married.

        • Sally July 1st, 2015 at 13:20

Well, actually, in my town now, you do. Our MI city just decided to do away with marrying folks (but assures us it only has to do with money, not the new law!) Right, this is the town of Dave Camp, ALEC’s acolyte Snyder, Moolenaar, and our brilliant AG who just got the Supreme Court to rule against the EPA, to cheers from our RQW newspaper. So, I’m sure the City just suddenly decided to do away with marriages because…money.

          • Larry Schmitt July 1st, 2015 at 15:23

So where will they get their marriage licenses?

  6. BigDumbWhiteGuy July 1st, 2015 at 08:11

Translated Tony Perkins: “They’re all gonna laugh at you! Send me money!”

  7. rg9rts July 1st, 2015 at 08:38

    I eliminate daily

    • The Original Just Me July 1st, 2015 at 12:02

Crap, I knew you were doing something.

  8. Suzanne McFly July 1st, 2015 at 09:23

Man, the President better hurry up, he hasn’t even started taking our guns yet.

    • Mike July 1st, 2015 at 10:59

I’m with you…for a guy that is supposed to disarm us, re-educate our kids into commies, destroy the family, get those FEMA camps up and running, and bring down christianity, he’s doing a terrible job.

      • Suzanne McFly July 1st, 2015 at 11:02

Well I think he is assuming he can do it in his next term.

    • Sally July 1st, 2015 at 13:18

I know, right. Where is he hiding those FEMA camps..there certainly are a lot of people who need re-educated spouting off lately. Round them up, Mr. President!

  9. Obewon July 1st, 2015 at 09:24

Greek “Orthodox Christianity’s truth doesn’t change”. So now he’s dumping his imploded evilangelical shtick for greener donor wealth!

  10. Gindy51 July 1st, 2015 at 09:25

Works for me, the sooner that archaic pile of crap is gone the better.

  11. Um Cara July 1st, 2015 at 09:53

Given that most Christians now support same sex marriage, especially younger Christians, it would seem most Christians disagree with this kook.

    http://www.freedomtomarry.org/resources/entry/marriage-polling

“Evangelical millennials are 64% in favor of allowing same-sex couples to marry,”

Catholics: A New York Times/CBS News poll conducted February 23-27, 2013 shows 62% of American Catholics are in favor of legalizing marriage for same-sex couples.

    • whatthe46 July 1st, 2015 at 10:24

catholics should never complain about homosexuality when they continue to give revenue to the church that covers child rape by its priest.

    • craig7120 July 1st, 2015 at 10:30

I’m not here to do math, so I don’t know about any of that stuff you quoted. As an atheist, one of the endearing qualities I like about our POTUS is the fact he’s the antichrist. Soooo explaining away the possibility of him destroying Christianity is quiet distressing.
      =8^D

      • Larry Schmitt July 1st, 2015 at 12:16

Being a Muslim is a plus if you’re the antichrist. Also being a socialist communist doesn’t hurt either.

  12. jybarz July 1st, 2015 at 10:09

Some gays are Christians and also many priests are gays.
So, are they a problem for who?
    What’s FRC researching?
Maybe Perkins/FRC should find out why they hate gays… after all, we are all God’s children.

    • Larry Schmitt July 1st, 2015 at 10:11

They seem to be of the opinion that it’s a sin to be a homosexual. Since it’s not a choice, maybe it was god who committed the sin when he made them that way. Or at the very least, he made a mistake. Maybe he’s not all-powerful after all.

      • whatthe46 July 1st, 2015 at 10:23

you never hear them crying that the priest are a problem raping little boys. but, the gay, oh my GOD everyones going to hell.

      • The Original Just Me July 1st, 2015 at 12:00

That brings up a question I have always wondered about. If man is made in God’s image, is God a Homo ? Just Wondering, Inquiring Minds Want To Know.

        • Larry Schmitt July 1st, 2015 at 12:14

In reality it’s the other way around. God was created in man’s image.

          • The Original Just Me July 1st, 2015 at 12:24

Very True. I see what you mean. God didn’t write the Bible, man did, and that is where we get our image of God.

            • Larry Schmitt July 1st, 2015 at 12:41

Not just that god, but all of them. Whatever images any society has of its god, they always look like us. And considering how big the universe is, that’s pretty conceited.

              • The Original Just Me July 1st, 2015 at 12:43

Very true, people are always telling me, I remind them of Buddha.

                • Larry Schmitt July 1st, 2015 at 13:08

                  Must be your peaceful nature.

    • Dwendt44 July 1st, 2015 at 11:56

They are researching ways to extract money from gullible idiots.

      • Bunya July 1st, 2015 at 14:42

Hey! Look how much the Catholic church raked in during the Terry Schiavo case. It’s all about the money, and you’d be surprised how many stupid people are out there are looking for ways to part with their hard-earned cash.

    • The Original Just Me July 1st, 2015 at 11:57

It’s all about; ” I have GOT to have more money to fight this ! ” Please donate NOW !

    • Elliot J. Stamler July 3rd, 2015 at 02:12

They are always researching new, innovative ways to separate the lunatic suckers who support them from their money. Gay marriage is really hot right now…beats forced abortions, death panels, and the “plague” of pornography that causes all viewers to become instant rapists.

  13. The Original Just Me July 1st, 2015 at 11:55

WOW ! That is a whole lot of talking and a great big bunch of BIG words. The problem is, he is speaking WAY OVER the heads of what few primate people that are listening to him.

  14. tracey marie July 1st, 2015 at 13:17

awwww, the poor little phobe is angry and throwing a fit because he can no longer discriminate legally.

  15. Chinese Democracy July 1st, 2015 at 15:56

Things are already getting rough for Christian Americans.. church attendance is way down.
Im afraid no matter how much money that h8 group raises through their emails . They will never drag the country back into the 1930s

  16. Greebo July 1st, 2015 at 16:12

    Paranoia.

  17. bpollen July 1st, 2015 at 16:28

Why would he bother when “Christians” like you are doing such a great job of killing it on your own?

  18. Elliot J. Stamler July 3rd, 2015 at 02:09

It’s never too late to give money to Tony Perkins and his Family Research Council. He doesn’t reveal his 6-figure salary and like salaries for the collection of American fascists, Schwartzwalder, Sprigg, Blackwell, Klukowski and the rest of them in top FRC positions. It’s a great way to make money because the thin-lipped imbeciles who are their constituency will always shell out. Beats working for a living.
