Chris Christie: The Media Owes Me An Apology

Posted by | May 24, 2015 23:00 | Filed under: Media/Show Business Politics

Chris Christie believes he has been fully vindicated and victimized by the media.

“I do believe there’s an absolute bias and a rush to judgment. You all know this, you saw the coverage of me 15 months ago. I was guilty, I had done it,” Christie said on CNBC Thursday morning. “Now we’re 15 months later, where are the apologies pouring in? Not one thing I said the day after the bridge situation has been proven wrong.”

Christie has not been implicated for any role in the closing of several lanes on the George Washington Bridge in September of 2013 which caused major traffic delays. Christie’s former high-school classmate and Port Authority official David Wildstein pleaded guilty earlier this month to conspiracy counts related to the lane closures and prosecutors have also indicted fellow Christie allies Bill Baroni, the former deputy executive director of the Port Authority, and Bridget Anne Kelly, the governor’s former deputy chief of staff.

On Thursday, Christie said the uproar over the lane closures was overblown and covered more than other stories like the IRS scandals or Hillary Clinton’s private email server…

“The media unfortunately in my mind and I’ve seen this acutely in the last couple of years, whatever is on front page of New York times is what they talk about,” Christie said on Thursday. “That’s who they go to cocktail parties with, that’s what they do. So if you’re frustrated by that I apologize to you but welcome to the real world.”

Governor Lard-ass — attempting to play the role of the poor maligned victim of the big bad news media — is channeling his inner Palin.

“The media owes Christie an apology?..
What does he think he is a comedian now?

    • Larry Schmitt May 25th, 2015 at 06:42

If he were a comedian, he would have achieved the desired goal. He has everyone laughing at him.

He’s right about the bias. The whole country is biased against the idea of this clown ever becoming president.

Does this BlubberButt actually think he can become President by bullying and screaming at people? I’m starting to think he knows he has a snowball’s chance but he’s running anyway just for the name recognition and that sweet, sweet campaign money. The whole GOP campaign process seems to be nothing more than a money racket.

I don’t think he understands that it’s not only about a bridge but i’m sure the media will fill him in on the rest of it eventually.

Apologize? He has been found innocent in using America’s bridges because someone didn’t like him? No he is not innocent, Americans do not like him, and he needs to quit having hissy fits, he is embarassing New Jersey.

The pension scandal and Harrison real estate scandal are far worse than BridgeGhazi. Unfortunately, only the Bergen Record (nj.com) seems to be following wither of these stories. The New York Times is, on those matters, about as useful as breasts on an iguana.

      • Suzanne McFly May 25th, 2015 at 12:41

I think those stories didn’t catch on because people would have a hard time understanding the real estate scandal and pensions have been demonized by the right. If you show people having to wait hours to drive home from work, they understand how upset they would be. If you can personalize a story, you can sell it.

Why is my immediate, reflexive reaction to shout, “Sockinit BridgeGhazi Boy!”

  12. bpollen May 25th, 2015 at 16:44

Please, Chris, hold your breath. I’m sure they will come around – eventually.

Show of hands…How many believe Christy had nothing to do with the Washington Bridge closure.
    There….guilty as sin.
