Homophobia Paid Big

The Indiana pizza owner who refuses gay weddings (as if anyone has pizza catered at a wedding) will now be a millionaire, as all the gofundme money goes right into his bank account.

Kevin O’Connor has closed shop because of numerous threats, after he drew the line on gay marriage pizza celebrations.

O’Connor supporters started a GoFundMe account where people could give money to support O’Connor’s family.  The goal was to raise $25K.

As of Saturday morning … they’ve hit $842,592.  Nearly 30,000 people have donated money.

When the fundraising campaign ends, all the money will go right into O’Connor’s bank account.

I couldn’t be more disgusted. All that money wasted on a bigot would go a long way toward feeding and sheltering the hungry and homeless. I really hate people sometimes.

This is how conservative Christians spend their money; on things that don’t make sense and hinder our society.

This is a sad exclamation point on the direction our country has gone. We beat, harass and even kill homeless veterans in cardboard boxes in alleys, yet send hundreds of thousands of dollars to undeserving bigots. Welcome to right wing America,

The religious right has lost the culture war. It is over.

There was a time in this country when pretty much everyone looked down on Homosexuality.

Now 37 States allow gay marriage, and the SCOTUS is about to make it legal in all states.

This Indiana Pizza issue is a last ditch effort to show us how mad they are that they lost. Though they will not go away, they are just going to need another tactic.

When it comes to christians….It is all about HATE!

Be careful. I thought the religious right had lost the culture war 40 years ago, look at what has happened since then!

        Religions are tenacious.

The shop owner will have a hefty tax bill in April 2016.

Poetic justice that a portion of those taxes will fund the ongoing effort to treat gay people equally.

Gofundme donations are not taxable. As I understand it, it’s considered a personal gift from the various people that donated, and not a payment from a business or one huge donation from one person (so no gift tax).

if the total amount is over fifty dollars, it’s taxable at a gift rate.
