Duck Dynasty Musical Staged By The Very People They’ve Criticized–Gays

“The Duck Commander Musical” is set to debut in April in Las Vegas.

And despite family patriarch Phil Robertson’s homophobic comments to GQ magazine in 2013, several gay men, famous for their work on Broadway, will be putting the show together, a source tells Confidenti@l.

“It’s called show business,” laughs our source. “The director Jeff Calhoun is openly gay and was married three years ago to his longtime partner.”

Calhoun has hired his longtime collaborative set designer, (also openly gay) Tobin Ost to design the new musical.

Of course. We all know teh gays love musical theater. So when do they sue? For definition of character.

I love, love, love musical theater. No, seriously. There is no way to properly convey how much I love musical theater and even I won’t go see this. But as a side note I have tickets for Book of Mormon the first week of March.

Even gays parodying those fools couldn’t make the subject palatable. And as much as I love the music of Oliver, it shows a quite different picture of Dickensian London than either the book or the BBC adaptation from the 90’s did. Fagin was not the lovable scamp Ron Moody made him.

My grandmother is responsible for my love of musicals, but as the world’s most practical woman – she also made sure I was aware it was fiction. It was something we talked about a lot. As a result of this time in my youth, my all time favorite movie is The Best Years of out Lives.

She talked to me about the trouble returning vets had getting jobs and how they were treated by the public. It’s not something we hear these days like the Vietnam Vets – but it wasn’t all sunshine and roses for WW2 vets either. It also explains my love of Hoagy Carmichael.

This should be fun….combining feathers, fishnet stockings, push up bras, and camo and gunz….Hope the ending is a smash, with the ducks having a bombshell revenge blow out.

A Mel Brooks type comedy with openly flamboyant gays playing the four lead roles would be something to see….
