Arizona Cop Accused Of Secretly Recording At Least 21 Women In Tanning Salon

An Arizona police officer is accused of recording at least 21 women while they were undressing in a tanning salon. Avondale police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Hintz said that one of the victims reported seeing a camera phone on top of the dividing wall separating the tanning salon rooms while she was undressing.

After the unidentified woman alerted the authorities, police found that an additional 20 women were also recorded.

“He was reaching over on some of the videos and attempting to record the females while they were undressing or getting dressed,” Hintz said. “There were also some videos where he was recording through the partician door.”

The suspect, 44-year-old Jeffrey Streeter, was arrested on Wednesday.

Streeter was booked on 31 counts of Surreptitious Recording and one count of tampering with physical evidence, police said, according to KPHO.

Streeter is currently employed as a police officer with the City of Goodyear and has been working in their investigations division, Hintz said.

The Goodyear Police Department said the suspect has been with the department for nine years and was a detective in the Investigations division.

Streeter has been placed on administrative leave until they complete their investigation.

Goodyear Police Chief Jerry Geier said in a statement:

“As soon as we heard the initial allegations, Streeter was placed on administrative leave and he remains on leave until completion of our administrative investigation which could take several weeks.”

“This is not the type of behavior that we expect or will tolerate from members of the Goodyear Police Department.”

The owner of the tanning salon said that he’s sickened by what happened.

The internet is saturated with porn. I just don’t get why people do such stupid stuff when there is no need. Turn on the computer and do what you need to do at home without violating anyone’s privacy. He should be fired for being stupid.

The thrill of the chase ???? I know, I don’t get it either, other then the thought process that it is forbidden.

What’s a “partician door”? Is that a misprint for “patrician”? I guess that’s a door that only the elite can go through, while the plebeians use another one. Do they have patrician and plebeian drinking fountains too?
Okay, okay, I know the writer must have meant “partition”, but I’m really getting sick and tired of these “ear-spellings””. Just recently, in a serious scholarly work on classical history, I came across something “striking a cord” — not to mention all the reign/rein, loose/lose pairings. Yes, I know there are more important issues in the world, but on the broken-window principle … Anyway, I’m a retired English teacher, it’s in my blood.

You should tweet @Anomaly100 typos when you see them as her eye sight is poor and she often can’t see them. Giving her a hard time is like picking on someone with a disability.

are you trying to say that Anomaly100 doesn’t have a disability ????

But this is not a “serious scholarly work,” it’s the internet, where people regularly use there, their and they’re interchangeably. If you wanted to, you could spend all day finding fault with minor errors, but what’s the point?

I know, I know, but if I can’t blow off steam here where can I? I’m retired and don’t have students to bug any longer.

Give the trolls a hard time. That is why we let some of them post here. It certainly isn’t because of the superiority of their views and opinions.

So how was he able to be there on 21 or so different occasions filming these poor woman without the Tanning Salon owners consent? It doesn’t make sense…

    • Carla Akins November 3rd, 2014 at 13:01

I’ll guess that like my daughter, he probably has a 30 day limitless tanning subscription. If he goes in daily he could record one or two women a day, depending on his timing.

      • Hass November 3rd, 2014 at 13:56

Okay then, that makes sense, Thanks Carla:)

If Mr. Streeter finds this kind of invasion of another’s privacy is OK , I really have to wonder what other abrogations of innocent peoples’ rights he has committed while wearing a badge.
