Man Files To Get Strippers’ Addresses So He Can Pray For Them

Posted by | October 25, 2014 23:28 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Religion Top Stories

He says he needs their full name and addresses.

David Van Vleet filed a request to obtain information about the strippers working at DreamGirls at Fox’s. He explained, “I would pray for those dancers by name. I’m a Christian… We have a right to pray for people.”

And something about trying to “do something for the public good.” Oh, and his assertion that he’s a citizen and he’s entitled to this information under the Constitution.

Van Vleet used the Public Records Act to request the licenses, but an attorney for the strip club said releasing that information would be a violation of employee rights. And a district court judge agreed, issuing a preliminary injunction this week prohibiting the disclosures of the strippers’ personal information.

Uh, no. Regardless of intent, that’s stalking.

All the places that I’ve ever worked for had a policy of not giving out employee information. This guy is something else. I wonder if it would be OK with him if we asked the pastor of his church for the names, phone numbers and addresses of all the members of his church.

      • Carla Akins October 26th, 2014 at 00:14

I read that since the dancer’s are licensed their info is public in this state. Right, cause dancer’s are never stalked. Who made up that stupid as rule?

        • tiredoftea October 26th, 2014 at 00:20

          The politician’s who stalk them.

        • whatthe46 October 26th, 2014 at 00:32

why does one have to be licensed to dance? oh wait, it’s a fee. way to make money for their city. b.s.

            ding, ding, ding….on the nose.

          • M D Reese October 26th, 2014 at 18:42

They like to claim that they are against raising taxes–but of course fees and licenses that hurt mostly women and the working poor–that’s gravy.

        • M D Reese October 26th, 2014 at 18:41

Probably guys just like this pastor…

It was late, and I had a couple of cocktails Saturday night..(really officer)..

‘Ulterior Motive’ was what I was shooting for..;)

I make typos all the time. You guys (our readers) usually alert me to them. I have cataracts and there’s the occasional bloody Mary thingy:-)

The typo fairy curses us all from time to time but at least here I have no trouble figuring the intent. :-)

Oh good grief! I swear, it’s time to start protesting at these folks’ churches.

    • tiredoftea October 26th, 2014 at 00:19

Why? He’s just trying to find some dates for himself and Rush.

      • M D Reese October 26th, 2014 at 18:40

Oh GAG! Besides, Rush likes them younger-boyish you might say.
Speaking of Rush, I wonder if his current wife renewed her contract.

        • Candide Thirtythree October 27th, 2014 at 04:51

Hahaha, that reminds me of when hubby and I were newlyweds and he tried to boss me around and I took out our marriage license and waved it at him and told him, “See this? It is a marriage license, NOT a bill of sale!”

Hahaha smart hubby, that was 35 years ago and we are still married, he was a quick learner. LOL

          • M D Reese October 27th, 2014 at 12:40

Good for you! I’d say that you’re BOTH pretty darn smart–and 35 years? Wow! I’ll bet he even knows how to use the washer and dryer…

            • Candide Thirtythree November 3rd, 2014 at 01:20

Thanks, been playing video games together for over 35 years. :-) and about that washer and dryer thing, he can but I would rather he not unless I am too sick to do it. He has never been too good at sorting because he is color blind, that leads to some bizarre colors of underwear! LOL.

jon voight’s always up for a flick that gets him kicked out of his daughters life. its all about the $$$$$

      • StoneyCurtisll October 26th, 2014 at 14:28

I never really cared for John Voight, only liked him in a couple of movies, Deliverance and Midnight Cowboy..(I dont like his politics)
At the risk of sounding ‘anal retentive’…Angelia was born 6 years after Midnight Cowboy was released..
        Please forgive me….:)

from what ive read Angela is not impressed on how jon treated his wife/angela’s mother. That’s what got the feud started among the bad movie rolls jon took

It sucks to be a Liberal. It sucks to be a nice guy.

That being said, the greatest gift mom and dad ever gave me is empathy.

“If by a “Liberal” they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people-their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties-someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “Liberal”, then I’m proud to say I’m a “Liberal.”
