Rove To GOP: When Republicans Win In November, No ‘Score Settling’

Posted by | October 9, 2014 11:05 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

Karl Rove is sure of Republican victories this November, so much so, that he is warning against anyone doing a happy dance. From the WSJ:

Mr. Obama is not the only person who must decide how to proceed. Whatever path the president chooses, Republicans must settle on a course, too. They should understand that, while it is insane to assume good faith from Mr. Obama, they should not make score-settling with the administration their priority.

Voters want Republicans to restrain Mr. Obama from further bad actions and oversee, and in some cases investigate, misdeeds and gross mismanagement. Even more, however, they want Republicans to tackle the problems facing Americans, especially middle-class Americans. This means the GOP should start with measures to strengthen the economy and help job creation.

That ‘s the Rovian dog whistle that just gave the Repubs his permission to do what they were going to do anyway, turn bashing this administration to levels not seen since the McCarthy hearings.

We know from experience that the GOPTP is the party of “my way or the highway” whether they win or lose. I’ll be watching fof Turdblossom’s performance on election night–it’s the only time I ever switch over to Fox “news”.

And Obama and the Democrats sure wanted all the help they could get when they passed the PPACA, didn’t they?

      • Obewon October 9th, 2014 at 13:48

The enacted ACA HC reform law includes over 300 Republican bills and amendments now covering 27 Million. http://acasignups.net/

Repubs hate Obamacare because CBO proves it reduces Federal Deficits by $1.5 T, down from GWB’s U.S. record Deficit begun 10/1/08 FY09 Q4-08 $1.3 trillion+ red ink that the Cheney Admin left burning on 1/20/09. -Surprise: Obama likely to leave office with another Dem POTUS budget surplus-Conservative AEI. http://www.aei-ideas.org/2014/04/surprise-obama-might-just-leave-office-with-budget-surplus/

They hate Obama care because Obama pushed the idea. It was mostly Republican ideas to begin with, but once that black guy in that White House proposed it, it was evil.

They were for it before they were agin it. Drives me nuts.

Yeah–I’m in a red state whose governot refused to open a state market place and expand medicaid–so it was a real mess. Hospitals are closing and we don’t have that many to begin with. So yeah–it’d be nice if GOPTPers would help–but I certainly don’t think that will happen until hell freezes.

        ____________

        As does EVERYBODY.

The same as how Bush Sr and the Republicans sure wanted all the help they could get when they passed Cap & Trade.

Difference is…. with Cap &Trade, ALL factions voted according to the merits of the bill, OR their own constituencies, OR from where they got the most donations.

But, with Obama, EVERY Republican who praised Cap & Trade as “market solutions”, called it Cap & Tax and voted against it, just to just to “deny the president a bipartisan victory.”

The same is true for the Health Equity and Access Reform Today Act of 1993 (SB 1770) and the Consumer Choice Health Security Act of 1993 (SB 1743).

The ONLY object is so that they could say, “Not One Republican Voted For….” then call Obama divisive

Karl Rove is sure of Republican victories this November. I’m hoping this prediction is the same as it was for the Presidential election in 2012.

Rove seems awfully certain that GOP’s Voter disenfranchisement will reward repubs in a low turnout midterm. Even though many former GOP voters are beginning to figure out ‘Wait! What has the GOP ever done for anybody not in the top 1% during the 21st Century?’

    • Suzanne McFly October 9th, 2014 at 16:09

I am hoping these clowns are pissing off the voters and people will get off their couches and vote this year.

      • Obewon October 9th, 2014 at 19:01

Repubs aren’t making any gains in the North East that’s for sure. They’ve become the fly-over country party.

        • Suzanne McFly October 9th, 2014 at 19:38

I know, I live in Connecticut and I love to tell my dad and my grandfather that their votes don’t count up here. They are outnumbered by the overwhelming population of democrats and many are in their own family :)

The polls will have to stay open way after closing, and they’d better pull out the riot gear. I’m sure there’ll be a whole lotta pushing and shoving by all the women, minorities and disenfranchised folks showing up to vote republican.

“…This means the GOP should start with measures to strengthen the economy and help job creation.”

You clowns could have done that 6 years ago if you weren’t so filled with hatred for our first Black President.

Also, unless you win 60 seats in the senate, it is my fervent hope that the Dems filibuster everything you try to do.

    • Skydog2 October 10th, 2014 at 07:04

What has the GOP ever done for America in the 21st century?
A: Delivered GWB’s 12/07-6/09 Great Recession record low everything since (R) Hoover’s Great Depression free market failures. Even Koch oils tea party know repubs are the Dunce party!

      • OldLefty October 10th, 2014 at 07:27

I don’t think the Democrats would filibuster their own bills and judges, just to deny the president a “bipartisan” victory, just so that they can blame him for partisanship.

Oh my, Rove — it’s a little late to start thinking and talking like you GOP’ee-ers even “give a CRAP”!!! You have all shown us in a thousand ways that you don’t care a ‘whit’ about the masses, and what they need, or what their problems are, etc. etc.!!! Just so you “Elites” get your huge Bu$h Tax Cuts$ back and can get back to piling up the BIG PROFITS once again, TAX FREE — that’s the “NAME OF YOUR TUNE” AND THE ONLY “SONG YOU CARE ABOUT”!! Everyone knows by now what you’re all about — every one of you, & we don’t want to hear any “Made-Up B.S.” from you or anyone else from now on!! Just go watch your corny, lying Campaign Ads & study ’em good — to see just where you guys went wrong!!! You are all FAKERS and I swear I don’t see how you sleep nights, or face yourself in the mirror the next day!!! UGH-HH!!! I hope all of you will “live happily ever-after” with all of those ill-gotten Republican Billion$!!! :-(
