Chelsea Clinton announced the birth of her daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky, on Twitter early Saturday morning and since then, Republican Twitter users have not exactly welcomed the baby into the world with open arms.

Meet Charlotte, Marc Mezvinsky and Chelsea Clinton’s new baby.

How Conservative pro-lifers celebrate the birth of a baby.

That’s OK, Charlotte. Most people are delighted that you’ve arrived in good health.

one thing that puzzled me when I saw an ANTI-CHOICE billboard the other day:
    “we chose life”
if THEY are choosing, does that mean they want to be the ONLY ones making a choice?

    question:
    what is REAL Tyranny?

    • Gina Simpson-Myers September 28th, 2014 at 12:35

Saying that they “chose” implies the validity of all options, doesn’t it? Because, really, anti-choicers want there to be NO choice, which means their billboard should have just said “We got life” which implies a whole other set of issues, eh?

      • nobodobodon September 28th, 2014 at 13:56

How about “We chose life and wish we hadn’t been presented with the choice.”

Wow. I have rarely seen people so damn rude.

You seem to have missed MSNBC host Shuster’s comment regarding that Hillary was p!mping Chelsea out for superdelegates or the skit on SNL in ’92 Wayne’s World: “While it’s true that adolescence has been thus far unkind, we think she’s gonna be a future fox.” Mike Myers says, “Chelsea Clinton–not a babe.”
That skit didn’t make it to the west coast replay.

That said, congratulations to the Clinton family on their new arrival.

Anyone surprised by this reaction from the RWNJs has not been paying attention for the last 40 years. This is “Republican pro-life Christian family values” on full display.
There are only three reasons people vote Republican: Greed, misplaced fear, and irredeemable stupidity.

A sweet, innocent baby girl is born to a loving family and people act like she did something to be disrespected and put down for. Those who are that ignorant are what is wrong with society. Disgusting people with horrific attitudes and hatred are becoming very commonplace in the US.

    • RuralStupidity September 29th, 2014 at 06:05

No, they’ve always been there. The birth of the Tea party was simply their coming out of the closet.

I would NEVER vote rethug but even if i were in the mind to vote that way this would do it for me.. If a party at this time has nothing to do but trash a family that has a joyful event then they are not longer viable to lead the nation

Congratulations to the Clintons and Mezvinskys! Just know that not everyone is so hate-filled and hate-fueled. May Charlotte enjoy a long life of happiness and activism.
I can’t see how she’d be anything other than an activist, with her birth stirring up so much…positive…push…from those of us who love her just for being born. :)

Once again the Republicans are talking out of both sides of their mouths. When Palin’s daughter Bristol became pregnant out of wedlock, which is premartial sex and a no, no before marriage, Bristol was embraced by the right. Why? Cuz she didn’t abort her bastard!
Now you have Chelsea Clinton, married, and now a mom giving birth and the Conservatives howl! Like Bristol, Chelsea did not abort, but, unlike Bristol, Chelsea got it right: love, marriage, baby carriage! That Alaskan hussy never got it right. It was lust, baby, engagemnent, no wedding.
Only right leaning idiots can somehow find the birth of a new life as something to attack. Which is the opposite of what alleged pro-life advocates should be doing

    • jasperjava September 28th, 2014 at 20:32

As liberals, we should value human beings whether they were born in or out of wedlock. The pejorative “bastard” is uncalled for, especially since it’s in no way the child’s fault whether his or her parents are married or not.

Nor should liberals have a narrow conception of what constitutes “getting it right”. Love, marriage, baby carriage may be fine and dandy with some people, but there are myriad types of family arrangements, some by choice and some by circumstance.

I “get” that you’re criticizing the Right’s hypocritical “morality” by throwing it back in their faces. It just seems that you’re coming across as one of them, by seeming to insist that there’s only ONE “right, moral and correct” way to go about things.
