10-year Sentence For Montana Teacher Who Served Only 30 Days For Rape
Montana teacher, Stacey Dean Rambold, 55, was resentenced to 10 years in custody after the first judge who partially blamed the victim was censured.
Crimesider reports:
Five more years included in the sentence were suspended.
Victim Cherice Moralez killed herself in 2010 while the case was pending. Without their primary witness, prosecutors struck a deal with Rambold that initially allowed him to avoid prison altogether.
Rambold, however, violated that agreement by having unauthorized visits with relatives’ children and entering into a relationship with an adult woman without telling his counselor. As a result, the case was revived and Rambold pleaded guilty last year to a single count of sexual intercourse without consent.
Judge Randal Spaulding told the defendant, “I considered your abuse and exploitation of your position of trust as a teacher, and specifically Cherice’s teacher.”
Rest in peace, Cherice.

Now Cherice can rest in peace; sometimes justice does prevail.

So if I get this right, because he had visits from young family members and a girlfriend the case warranted a retrial, not because he raped a year old child and essentially got away with it? Maybe he will get a taste of what he did when he is in prison.

yeah, because he wasn’t suppose to be around children. it gets worse.

I understand he wasn’t supposed to be around children, but that shouldn’t of been the reason for a retrial, the rape of a young child and a terrible judgment should be the reason. I am grateful he was retried and I know our judicial system is complicated but it seems to lack common sense.

I had to edit this, I did not have my number lock on and it didn’t contain the “14” so the sentence did not make much sense.

5 years suspended? Even 10 was too light. How about 25-life?

sucks that it had to happen in a round-about fashion, but atleast the a-hole will see the inside of a prison, hopefully his cellmate loves him for who he is…inside and out :p

Rush and Faux News will be issuing “Free Rambold” bracelets soon. More persecution of white America. But “No Means Yes” in Rush’s World. Guess Faux Five will now say the victim is “Boobs Underground”

This d*ck Rambold had the nerve to start crying at his sentencing hearing. He was feeling sorry for himself. The article I read reported that he had a “stunned” expression on his face after his 10 year sentence was announced.
He has never thought about poor Cherice and how unbearable he made her life. I’m glad Judge Spaulding looked beyond his little pity party and gave his ass a 10 year sentence in prison, and I’m glad Baugh won’t be around after his present term ends to dispense more of his form of “justice” on anyone else.
