Comedy Central aired a clip from the 18th season of South Park, which premieres on Wednesday, with a one-minute commercial during Sunday’s Redskins-Eagles game.

The Washington Post reports, “The spot parodied the Redskins name controversy, of course, with Daniel Snyder, Robert Griffin III and Jay Gruden demanding that “Mr. Cartman” stop referring to his company as The Washington Redskins.”

“I have total respect for you,” Cartman says. When I named my company Washington Redskins, it was out of deep appreciation for your team and your people.”

TPM points out that the ad only aired in the Washington, D.C. area.

leave it to Trey Parker and Matt Stone to make a very valid statement…
We have to look upon cartoon characters to guide us towards the right path?..

    Where is the common sense?
How hard is it to just change the name of a fuggin football team?
