Phil Robertson: ‘I’m As Much Of A Homophobe As Jesus Was’

Posted by | September 2, 2014 15:42 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson said on Good Morning America he has the Biblical view of gays, and so he says, “I’m as much of a homophobe as Jesus was.”

“I don’t hate anybody,” Robertson insisted in the interview. Asked specifically about the comments he made, in which he compared gay sex to beastiality, among other things, he had this to say:

“The only place that I know of that I could have gone to answer that question would be a Bible. The dictionary wouldn’t have explained it. An encyclopedia wouldn’t have explained it, whether it was a sin or not. So I went to the only source I had to answer his question…

I’m as much of a homophobe as Jesus was. People who are participating in homosexual behavior, they need to know that I love them.”

And if you think Phil Robertson knows or cares what you think of him:

“I don’t own a cell phone, I don’t have one,” he said. “I’ve never turned on a computer in my life. So whatever America is saying or not saying about me, true or not true, what they need to understand is, I’m not hearing it.”

Yeah–Jesus was so into gay bashing that he never even brought it up. I wonder if this idiot has even read the bible, or if he just thumps it.

Hey Phil, could you point out the part of the Bible that outlines Jesus and his homophobia?
    Thanx

    • R.J. Carter September 2nd, 2014 at 16:47

      That was his point, actually.

No, it was a deflection, knowing his previous comments on homosexuality. He used Jesus as a tool to avoid having to answer what he quoted out of Corinthians regarding homosexuals. He’s a bigot, plain and simple, and using Jesus’ reticence of gays to excuse himself from his previous bigoted remarks, is pathetic.

I must have missed that part of the bible where Jesus talks about beastiality and gay sex.

I love how both sides of this argument try to use Jesus. Jesus never said anything about homosexuals during his time on earth, as far as we know. So I wish both sides would quit trying to say he’s on their side. Lets just suffice it to say however God feels about homosexuality, then his Son would feel the same way.
We all sin, everyday, nobody should be pointing their finger at any body and telling that person to remove the sin(s) from their eyes when they have not yet removed the sin (s) from their own eyes.
Robertson is another one of these fake Christians who belueves God agrees with their views, when more than likely, he doesn’t. Just leave God out of it and admit you’re a hater if any body like yourself.

And how DOES God feel about homosexuality? …And no fair quoting from a 2000 year old book written by misogynistic homophobes.
