Gutfeld To Me: Why Do Liberals Have A Hard Time Identifying Evil

Posted by | August 29, 2014 00:05 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

It’s not whether or not liberals (like me) can’t identify evil. It’s whether or not ISIS is a threat to the United States, and I, much to the horror of Greg Gutfeld and most viewers of the O’Reilly Factor, said they are not a threat and we should stay out of a war between Sunni and Shiite Muslims. But my answer goes to the core of what is really the issue: We don’t need to be involved everywhere in the world where there is evil, and ISIS is not an”existential threat,” as Greg put it, to the United States.

My appearance did not sit well with my adoring Twitter fans.

While I quite agree with the attitude that action should be taken with great caution in all cases, I think it’s quite irresponsible of you to represent the ISIS situation as “a war between Sunni and Shiite Muslims”. That’s highly reductionist, and not at all representative of what is truly going on over there. It would be roughly the equivalent of casting the extermination of the Jews in Germany as “just a civil war between Christians and Jews”.

Consider that the Grand Mufti of Egypt, a high-ranking Sunni leader, has denounced ISIS as a threat to Islam. Consider that the Arab League has described ISIS’s activities as “crimes against humanity”. Consider that the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia (also Sunni) has described ISIS as “Number One Enemy Of Islam”.

And what’s more, Sunni Muslim leaders in Iraq are organising forces to fight against ISIS – and they’re getting US help, at that!

    http://online.wsj.com/articles/u-s-backs-sunni-plan-to-fight-islamic-state-jihadists-in-iraq-1407285311

It is irresponsible in the extreme to cast this as Sunni vs Shia. This is disgusting power-hungry religious zealots using violence to get what they want, not a civil war. If you do not correct this heinous misrepresentation, then you are no better than Fox News and the like, who make out as though Muslims haven’t been denouncing ISIS.

Gutfeld is pure scum! He should be air lifted and dropped in a sea of the scum called ISIS. I loath Gutfeld and the other four subhuman heartless scum he works with!

    • Robby August 29th, 2014 at 17:58

Why don’t you debate those things you disagree with instead of attacking the person? It is immature to call names and it never wins anyone to your side of the issue.

Perspective? You should worry about 1 billion+ birds killed in the USA annually. Your own sources said that 133 birds were killed in the desert by your “Death Ray.” You’re Koch sucking a Big Oil Fed delusion for functional illiterates. So now you again ignore 1 B+ birds and cite “one of 233 birds recovered from the sites of THREE Californian desert solar power plants.”

What is your age & how many GOP TP have you enabled? You want us to believe you support the Obama Admins excellent Green Renewable Record Non-polluting energy production? Your own SciAm link debunks you via these breakthroughs being applied:

‘Recommendations for directly reducing avian mortality include clearing vegetation around solar towers to make the area less attractive to birds, retrofitting panels and mirrors with designs that help birds realize the solar arrays are not water, suspending operations at key migration times, and preventing birds and bats from roosting and perching at the facilities. The recommendations are being considered by regulators.’ “The Center for Biological Diversity supports those proposed measures. It also suggests restoring bird habitat elsewhere to draw birds away from the solar facilities”-SciAm “And it wants the government to undertake new scientific research — research that could offer clues for better protecting birds from solar power farms.”-Via Robby’s SciAm link & Robby’s feigned support:) Lol!

Here’s NASA & NOAA fact based reality: 1. NOAA’s data for land and ocean temperature anomalies shows that 14 of the past 15 years were the hottest on record.

    2. Reto Ruedy, a program manager at (NASA) the Goddard Institute, told PolitiFact that the institute’s data produces the following ranking of hottest years. Items on the same line are statistically tied.
    1-2: 2010, 2005
    3-8: 2007, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2009
    9-12: 2012, 2011, 2001, 2004
    13: 2008
    14: 1997
15: 1995 This analysis shows that 13 of the warmest years have occurred in the past 15 years. Alternately, one could say that 12 of the warmest years came in the last 13: “Barack Obama says the 12 hottest years on record have come in the last 15 years”-True! http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2013/feb/15/barack-obama/barack-obama-says-12-hottest-years-record-have-com/

All climate indicators are at 1.3 M year+ records because ‘manmade modern global warming is 80% caused by human burning of fossil fuels, with 20% caused by human deforestation’-NASA/NOAA & 97% of climate scientists agree. http://climate.nasa.gov/key_indicators/ Time history of atmospheric carbon dioxide from 800,000 years ago until January, 2012. http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/ccgg/trends/history.html http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/indicators/ <-"Human Influence."

      Great links FNLED.
Heh-heh Robby’s a GOP TV devotee of Gutfeld’s fart jokes and faux news from the most uniformed ‘entertainers’ on Earth.

  14. Obewon August 30th, 2014 at 00:31

You deride the linked “FBI” and “Europol” original sources as “left”-Lol. You’ll be wormfood via natural causes, long before you accurately post anything.

You’re a well proven xenphobe afraid of 3 million U.S. peaceful Muslims who turn-in their own RWNJ terrorists domestically and internationally to FBI, DHS, Interpol and other police agencies. You are a despicable uninformed delusional paranoid.

    • Chinese Democracy August 30th, 2014 at 00:57

Everyone that listens to Glenn Beck knows the FBI is “wide left”. Why else would they investigate civil rights violations in Ferguson ? Duh

      • Obewon August 30th, 2014 at 01:08

Gohmert’s terror babies are gonna explode anytime now! That’s why Limbaugh’s ratings are in a free fall amid 4 new stations dumping Rusty the racist in July, alone.

        • Chinese Democracy August 30th, 2014 at 01:22

lol .. right on the front page Gohmert terror baby explodes! Limbaugh cant scrape up any attention. I think hes no. 59 in Los Angeles

He could go to the net like Palin . I saw her do the ALS challenge. If only the bucket where full of lighter fluid.

  15. Chinese Democracy August 30th, 2014 at 01:01

What is more dangerous? A Muslim or an undocumented kid purposely infecting Americans with ebola? Or what about anchor babies?! Do you mean Christians like Timothy McVeigh?

Dont forget to check under your bed tonight

    • Obewon August 30th, 2014 at 01:13

Andy:) Self-hating “anchor babies” like Michelle Malkin infections are far worse than ebola! We have a new ebola vaccine and ZMapp retrovirus antibody treatments from Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc. that may lead to HIV aids cures too.

Any Michelle Malkin contact is still fatal, having no known cure.

      • Chinese Democracy August 30th, 2014 at 01:25

If contact with Malkin isnt fatal your IQ will still drop into single digits. The next thing you know.. you will be calling the Limbaugh show. heh

Good news about the vaccine! Go Science!

      • Elliot J. Stamler August 30th, 2014 at 03:31

The differences between Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter are: first, Ms. Malkin looks like a woman and is one; second, Ann Coulter does not look like a woman and I have serious doubts she is one; third, Michele Malkin is scurrilous but Ann Coulter is even more scurrilous.

  16. Elliot J. Stamler August 30th, 2014 at 03:19

It is quite rare for me to agree with Mr. Gutfeld on anything but on this point he is absolutely correct…which is why I am not a liberal but rather a centrist/moderate with many liberal views but also some conservative ones. Leftists and yes, Alan, you regrettably are one albeit mild, have infiltrated and corrupted liberalism just as rightist extremists have done with conservatism. Liberals like FDR, HST, JFK, Pat Moynihan, Scoop Jackson and many others understood that in a world in which horrid evil exists, when it is a threat to our country and people it must be fought..Kennedy’s words “the United States will bear any burden” are anathema to leftist liberals. Anyone who does not see ISIS as a menace to civilization itself is WORSE than Neville Chamberlain. It would be well for these pacifistic ostriches to remember Jefferson’s word, “The tree of liberty must from time to time be watered with the blood of tyrants.” It is all very well to seek peaceful methods but they do not work with blood-crazed fanatics.

  17. Obewon August 30th, 2014 at 11:12

So why can’t you debunk those “Stupid” FBI & Europol facts? D’oh!

    • mea_mark August 30th, 2014 at 17:43

Hopefully “Always Right” will stay gone this time. He tried to reincarnate as Robby. Banned again.

  18. Hogandda August 30th, 2014 at 17:05

Sorry, but the ones on this list that are not just half-truths and innuendos, fall under the powers of the Executive branch to Administer. Almost all of these are just actions taken that you don’t like, they are not illegal actions. And, to believe that Obama personally directed all of these things is ludicrous. And, when you throw in Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, we all know this is just a witch hunt. All other Presidents have done similar things in their administrations.

    • mea_mark August 30th, 2014 at 17:06

I was just trying to decide whether or not I should delete his comment because of such a questionable link.

  19. mea_mark August 30th, 2014 at 17:08

You need to provide a better source than that. It’s far too questionable to be allowed here. In general we don’t allow right-wing links because we just don’t.

I didn’t find that chart in the link you provided. Are you playing games.
