Hamas To Obama: Stop ‘Holocaust’ In Gaza

Hamas political leader Khaled Meshaal wants President Obama to persuade Israel to  “lift the siege” of Gaza and push for a cease-fire in the conflict to stop a “holocaust” against the Palestinians.

“You as the leader of the most powerful state in the world, I ask you to call [on] Israel to stop its aggression on Gaza — and to lift the siege and open the cross borders and to rebuild Gaza,” said Hamas political leader Khaled Meshaal, in an exclusive interview with Yahoo News. “This is our demands.”

The direct appeal to the president was made — in English — at the end of a wide-ranging hourlong interview, conducted under tight security at a gated Hamas media office in Doha, Qatar. It came amid a new round of violence in the Gaza conflict, including the death of a 4-year-old Israeli child on a kibbutz from a Hamas rocket and the execution of 18 suspected Israeli collaborators by masked Hamas gunmen. On Saturday, Israeli aircraft demolished a 12-story apartment building, sending a huge fireball into the sky and wounding 22 people, including 11 children.

In the interview, in which he answered all other questions in Arabic, Meshaal was at times defiant, comparing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at one point to Adolf Hitler.

Here Khaled, repeat after me. “Hamas Recognizes Israel’s right to exist”… Anything less is a non-starter.

Why us? Why should we have to push for a cease fire? That is not our country and not our problem. This is a civil/religious war that has been waging for centuries, and demanding a cease fire, or making demands of any kind, isn’t going to solve the problem.

We have enabled Israel to the point where they now have the 4th most powerful military in the world. So yes, a lot of this is our problem. You’d think that all the right wing free marketers would have wanted to arm the Palestinians too for the profit involved, but no.

Total embargo on Israel would be most effective.

I’d like to see that too. And tell them to get their damn “settlements” out of the West Bank or we’ll level them.

I agree. I’m tired of paying for other people’s freakin holy wars. Grow up, humanity. Do something worthwhile for a change.

Excuse me, did you say “bomb Israel”?

      I thought you did.

Do us and the world a favor and never comment about anything again.

First step: Rewrite the Hamas charter. We’ll be glad to help.

I cannot understand the Hamas strategy of flinging aimless missles across the border knowing that Israeli retribution will be precise targetting of innocents alongside Hamas militia and the destruction of life sustaining infrastructure. Israeli bombardment of Gaza is disgraceful, if not a violation of Geneva Accord terms of warfare. But then again, the US military has lobbed bombs as indiscretely and taken lives as horribly as beheading in its/our miltary/industrial complex ventures.

IF you can set aside any kind of morality or ethics, which isn’t hard for them since they’re religious, it may make sense. Wars are not won on battlefields anymore. The world’s opinion is turning against Israel , and is way more sympathetic to the Palestinians than it has ever been. The more “martyrs” they create and the more glaringly obvious war crimes Israel commits, the more this process accelerates.
Soulless and bloodthirsty as it is, it’s a workable strategy.
