Gun down by whom? Is it gang related? If so, this has got to stop. I feel sorry for his mother. This is beyond sad.

What do you say when this happens? It’s tragic, it’s one of the hardest things to understand, because it really seems senseless. A life snuffed out before it really began. I used to take living for granted, I really did, and it was because of the safety and security of living in a safe place. Death really didn’t even seem real, It wasn’t like I felt I’d live forever, I mean I knew I wouldn’t if you’d have asked me, although the good health of my youth did create an illusion of immortality, but no, it was more just being unaware of death’s shadow. I never considered death and dying with any real personal introspection, I had not a care in the world. Then my mother got sick with cancer, I was only 13 when she was diagnosed, 15 when she passed. It was a major event in my life.
The mother of this child no doubt feels responsible, “if only I had given him the cupcake”, she must be thinking.
My thoughts and prayers are for her this morning. No one should have to experience what she must now endure.
