Murder Of American Journalist Elicits Howls From Conservatives

Late Tuesday and early Wednesday, the civilized world was horrified by the barbarous murder of American journalist James Foley. It is at times like these, when the murder of one American by terrorists shocks and disgusts human beings of every political and religious stripe, that we pull together as one people. We turn to our leaders for wisdom, for calm words, for guidance.

Even conservatives seem more united than at any time in recent history as Republican members of the House and Senate and conservative religious leaders, cry out in one voice.

IMPEACH OBAMA!

According to a story published Wednesday in The Christian Post a coalition of mostly right-wing groups will soon host a “National Impeach Obama Week,” which will include numerous protests across the United States.

Scheduled from Saturday until the last day of August, the “National Impeach Obama Week” boasts of having events scheduled in all fifty states and the District of Columbia.

The website, impeachobamaweek.net, does not credit a specific group as being behind their efforts, but rather boasts a diverse group of endorsements, including Tea Party and Occupy groups, Republicans, libertarians, anarchists, independents, and some Democrats.

Yes, dear, gentle reader. At times like these in our nation’s history, sometimes it takes a horrific event to bring Americans together, to force them to face a common enemy, to unify behind a single purpose. Hitler and Tojo brought Americans together like never before during World War II. And now, this horrific, senseless murder of an American journalist, held captive for two years before his gruesome slaying in a highly-produced video production, has caused Americans to join hands against this common enemy: Barack Hussein Obama.

These patriots will no longer tolerate any mindless squabbling over what charges Obama should be impeached over.

“We are not here to bicker about what is impeachable, but to demand that this lawless, subversive and anti-American president be removed from office,” reads the “About” section of the website.

“We believe that Obama is, in fact, criminal and treasonous. He is a grave threat to our representative constitutional republic.”

In recent months various conservative groups and figures have called upon the United States Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against President Obama.

One voice for impeachment was Sarah Palin, former governor of Alaska and Republican vice presidential hopeful.

In other words, they don’t know for sure what crime he committed, but he sure as the dickens committed some crime, and they’ll decide on exactly what to charge him with before the lynching impeachment.

In fact, one of the leaders of the “Let’s Find Something To Impeach Obama About” movement is Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN):

“I don’t think that (Speaker of the House) John Boehner is going to bring about impeachment, which I understand, because what we really need is to remove Barack Obama from office, and the Senate has the power to remove the president, not the House,” Bachmann told activists on a call last Tuesday hosted by the anti-immigration group NumbersUSA. “The Senate is not going to remove him. So all we would do is effectively make the president a political martyr by impeaching him.”

A very nice armoire, the sort of which Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) would like to impeach.

She suggested that if the House can’t impeach Obama, they should impeach his Cabinet. Or at the very least, an armoire.

God bless these great Americans for bringing us together in a way no single enemy has been able to unite our fractured nation since the 1940s.

After all, it wasn’t until after General George Washington was hanged, then drawn and quartered and put on the dollar bill that God hand-delivered the Constitution from the Burning Bush to Thomas Jefferson and his wife “Weezie”, only to followed some years later by the Bill of Rights that God threw together over a single weekend because some other stuff occurred to Him that He forgot to add to the original draft of our most sacred of holy documents.

This is not funny, Mr. Schmalfeldt. It’s not funny. It’s not amusing. It’s inappropriate. It’s unacceptable and it’s obscene.

This article is inappropriate. The very idea of using this man’s tragic death as the basis of “satire” is obscene.

I love that–“We are not here to bicker about what is impeachable”. In that case, they should just go home because what is impeachable is the crux of the matter. Do they think that they can just go grab the President of the United States, put him in chains and drag him to jail and then try to find an impeachable offense later? Gawd the STUPID is painful.

‘put him in chains and drag him to jail and then try to find an … offense later’

sounds like you’re a reporter in Ferguson, Missouri?

If so, be on the lookout for Officer ‘GO FUCK YOURSELF’

rumors are he’s coming back in his National Republican Uniform!

Probably with a little KKK emblem instead of a US flag.

The stupid “Impeach Obama week” has nothing to do with the execution of Foley.

This article makes no sense at all.
