I prefer to quote those to whom I am responding, but now every time I try to copy a passage, it won’t work and an annoying window pops up asking me if I want a license.
Thanks for the needless pain in the ass, Disqus.

    Toum is wrong.
It is indeed up to the authorities in Gaza and Israel to stop the conflict. There will be nothing more than one round after the other of killing as long as the Palestinians choose to be led by an organization that refuses peace and insists on Islamicizing Arab society. Hamas is dedicated to this goal, and to establishing sharia law.
This farmer has to be aware of the fact that Hamas has launched hundreds of rockets at Israel this year, yet he claims to have no idea why Israel would be responding to.

The Arabs have tried the path of war and terrorism to destroy Israel for over 60 years. They have only brought upon themselves defeat after defeat and the loss of many of their people. This is just plain stupid.

It is likewise stupid to have, as the chief weapon in your arsenal, a weapon the other side can mostly render harmless while deploying far more deadly weapons of their own. It is stupid to fight a war under those circumstances.

There is only one answer I can see and that is for the Palestinians to try the one tactic they have never really tried, and that is nonviolence.

Fighting those Israelis is stupid and there is a superior alternative that would have gotten them their country decades ago and they would have prevented the killing of thousands of Palestinians and Jews had the Palestinians chosen peace and nonviolence.
They have chosen to be led by an outfit committed to rejection of peace and is committed to a culture of death and so they are reaping what they have sown.

Farmer Ibrahim, taken at face value is apparently a tragic example of non-combatants caught in the crossfire of an ongoing conflict that has already reduced much of Gaza to ruble. And though there is now a ceasefire, the damage already done has made Gaza uninhabitable for civilians without outside aid, for the foreseeable future. Beyond this mutual lull in the fighting, the Cairo talks appear to be deadlocked.
Ibrahim needs to understand Israel will not stop attacking Gaza until Hamas stops attacking them. Israel will never lift restrictions on the movement of people and goods as long as Ibrahim’s government aligns itself with Hamas, a terrorists’ group with connections to Global Jihad which targets both Israel and America.
This is a huge humanitarian disaster with hundreds of thousands of non-combatants facing almost certain death, if they are not removed from Gaza
