Obama: ‘This Is Going To Be A Long-Term Project’

Posted by | August 9, 2014 17:06 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories War & Peace

We are not going to stop bombing Iraq anytime soon, according to President Obama.

“I don’t think we’re going to solve this problem in weeks,” Mr. Obama told reporters before leaving for a two-week vacation on Martha’s Vineyard. “This is going to be a long-term project.”

The president repeated his insistence that the United States would not send ground combat troops back to Iraq. But he pledged that the United States and other countries would stand with Iraqi leaders against the militants if the leaders build an inclusive government in the months ahead…

Earlier, Mr. Obama had suggested that wider American military support, including an expansion of the airstrikes, could come if Iraqi leaders formed a national unity government with meaningful roles for the country’s two main minority groups, Sunnis and Kurds. Without saying so explicitly, American officials have been quietly working to replace Mr. Maliki because they believe that he is incapable of uniting the country to face the militant threat.

Extreme forces in Iraq relish a fight with the United States.

One preacher in Falluja, which has been under ISIS control since the end of last year, said at Friday Prayer: “We know there comes a day to fight the United States. We are ready to march towards Erbil and Baghdad. The Islamic State will not be defeated and we are willing to keep pursuing jihad, according to the plans.”

Sounds like Obama wants to use the carrot instead of the stick on Iraqi leaders to get a reasonable government. I hope it works. It sure will upset the right-wing war fanatics though.

Today in the news there is a radical Islamic faction in Iraq that is killing innocent people because they don’t believe in their form of Islam, and they are committing genocide today.

I do not support any type of genocide of religion, race or culture especially by a religious faction, which was tried once, in Hitler’s Germany, by the slaughtering of the Jewish and other non-Aryan cultures, which a religious base government can pursue. If you take some time study history, world history of religious, Theocracy governments as in the government of Iran, Afghanistan and most of your Islamic governments. You’ll find more times than not that such government tends to be a dictatorship, as is happening right now in Iraq. However, the elimination of this certain radical Islamic group, ISIS that they are committing genocide themselves, should be a priority for elimination by the total support of the industrialized nations in this world today. Their main goal is to conquer the world and emanating those who do not agree with their form of religious values. This is why the founding fathers of this country insisted in the separation of church and state. For this country will not have a religious dictatorship that can enslaved, tortured and eliminate citizens of their country for not believe in their form of a Superior Being.

The One preacher in Falluja, who made the statement above must have never felt the full power of the United States Military. Lord help him, if he ever comes across a United States Marine, who is PISST off just because he is there. because this Marine will grant his wish and help him to enter paradise. I will like to know what he’s thinking now after the past few days airstrikes, We might be lucky this One preacher in Falluja might be in paradise now.

As the ancient Chinese curse goes: “May you live in interesting times.”

Somebody is going to have to put “boots on the ground” to defeat this metastasizing cancer on the world called the “Islamic State.” What if Iraqis are unable, or unwilling, to form this “unity” Obama speaks of? What if, god-forbid, an American flier is shot-down, winds up butchered and hung from a Fallujah bridge?

I wonder what Hillary thinks about this “long-term project?”

Dropping food to people stuck on a mountain surrounded by an army of psycho killers is one thing. Yet rushing alone into direct IS engagement, without a national debate, while Congress (for what it’s worth) is in recess is something much more. Especially considering our recent Iraq experience and the fact, no matter what we do, rightly or wrongly, will continue to hate America just as much as the Islamic State does.

So, you’re a supporter of ISIS (Islamic State) and genocide? The world should just stand by and watch as these lowlifes slaughter innocent men, women and children?
