Russian Government Caught Editing Wikipedia Entry On Malaysia Airlines Flight 17
The Russian government has tampered with the Wikipedia page relating to the Malaysian Airlines MH17 flight tragedy. A Twitter bot that keeps an eye on Wikipedia pages edited by Moscow spotted the major changes to an entry about the crash.
According to the Daily News,the page written in Russian, originally said that the plane was “shot down by terrorists of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic.”
The edited entry now reads, “shot down by Ukrainian soldiers” in the Wikipedia page and those edits were made from within a Russian government location.
The Telegraph reports, “It appears that an internet user from within the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) changed a Russian language version of a page listing civil aviation accidents to say that “The plane [flight MH17] was shot down by Ukrainian soldiers”.
The Twitter bot @RUGoveEdits, caught the edit.

After spending some time trolling the right wingers on Mediaite, I’ve observed that a few of them are attempting the “Putin is a communist despot, but Obama is weak” charade. One even tried to act ignorant, “who praised Putin?”
After posting proof of Putin praising from both Pauls (Ron and Rand), Governor Word Salad, Hannity, Giuliani and the like, said troll still denied it, “that doesn’t equal praise of Putin.” They are backpeddling as fast as they possibly can, sort of like the Cliven Bundy circus, after he outed himself as a racist.
