Shinseki: VA Findings Are ‘Reprehensible’

Posted by | May 29, 2014 01:05 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki has broken his silence on the VA scandal.

“The findings are reprehensible to me, to this Department, and to Veterans,” he said in a statement released by the VA press office, then immediately directed the Phoenix VA to “triage” the 1,700 veterans that were left off hospital waiting lists for care.

The IG’s interim report, according to POLITICO, is damning: they found so many systemic scheduling problems throughout the VA medical system that they were forced to expand their review from 26 to 42 facilities. However, they still remain unsure as to whether the delays ended in the deaths widely reported by the media, and will only come to that conclusion in August, when the full report is released.

in general vets are treated the way babies who were not aborted are treated – by the right wing, at the least – the vets, especially combat vets (right or wrong) should be given everything they will ever need for the rest of their lives. Until the public can feel the abject fear a soldier feels in a combat situation, these boys and girls will be discards – how do you solve the problem??? I dunno.

Balderdash! All these “new” findings have been well known for years and Shinseki did nothing about them. Taking a cue from his incompetent boss Obama, the incompetent Shinseki now claims he knew nothing. Did he find out about the problem through the newspapers too? How many more incidents mush happen before you liberals admit that instead of the “most transparent” administration ever, what we really have the most incompetent administration ever.
Hey, and what about the “outing” of the CIA chief in Afghanistan? Haven’t seen any stories here ay Liberworld about it. I wonder why?

I don’t believe these long wait times are due to staff just sitting around not caring. More likely it is due to under staffing due to under funding ( thank you Republicans). We have had two prolonged and unnecessary wars ( thank you W.) producing many vets in need of help. This need could easily be projected before sending the troops to war ( paying for said wars on the credit card, thanks Republicans).

The problem here is totally due to Cheap a$$ chicken-hawk Republicans.
