Santa Barbara Shooter Was Influenced By Men’s Rights Movement
Click here for reuse options!We know for a fact that Rodgers was influenced by this movement, as he is subscribed to multiple “pick up artist” or “mens rights” channels on YouTube. (For those here that don’t use YouTube, when a user subscribes to a channel, they receive notifications when that channel posts a new video.)
They include:
“The Player Supreme Show” which rails against the feminization of men and talks about how to pick up women.
“RSDfreetour” which is a series of self-help seminars run by RSD Nation, a “pick up artist” site.
There’s also a user called McHenry Cruiser who in addition to being a pickup artist is a comedian who has some kind of beef with Louis CK, and another called “Squatting Cassanova,” who seems to be your average PUA.
I’m still digging through some of the folks he’s subscribed to.
He is what the Men’s Rights movement calls an “Incel” which is short for involuntary celibacy. It’s a hot topic in various parts of the manosphere…
So this kid who needed some serious mental help sought out the destructive, BS views coming from the men’s rights movement. He felt entitled to sex with women. He blamed women for not providing him with sex. He exposed himself to hateful rhetoric about women.
And then he acted on that hatred, and targeted college girls for a drive-by shooting, killed six, wounded seven, and then shot himself.

You have no idea what I’m trying to say, so like most friends of Feminists you just assume and name call. Her past should enter into it in certain circumstances. Example:
A woman has sex with men A and B in a hot tub and slips and gets a bruise.
The next day, a woman has sex with man C. The next day she falsely accuses him of rape. She then uses the bruise as “evidence” that she was forcibly raped by man C.
In reality, however, the bruise came from her slipping on a hot tub the day prior when she was having sex with men A and B. Man C knows this, but he can’t call men A and B as witnesses to exonerate himself because of rape shield laws.
So yes, relevant. Furthermore, some judges have interpreted rape shield laws to mean that a woman’s history of falsely accusing men should not be entered as evidence when she (falsely) accuses the next man of rape.
So yes, rape shield laws have certain problems. But if I was acting like you, all I would do is make no argument at all and instead say ZOMG ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS FALSELY ACCUSE MEN OF RAPE.
Doesn’t sound very intelligent, does it?

Actually, I am a rape victim. About a hundred times over. And so is my dad, my uncle, my brother, and so forth. Pretty much everybody is a rape victim now, according to the expanded definitions that Feminism has advocated.
I’ve had sex when under the influence of alcohol – which impairs and hence negates my consent. I’ve had sex whenever my consent wasn’t “enthusiastic” at every stage, which Feminists tell me is the same as rape. I’ve also had sex where I was asked repeatedly before I said yes, which – to Feminists – amounts to “sexual coercion.”
So yes, according to most Feminists I am a rape victim. And so is everyone else. Not that special a crime when everyone on earth is a victim of it, is it? And rape victims owe that trivialization of rape to Feminists like you.

Ah, the “woe is me, the world has always been in men’s favor” line. Men are overrepresented at the top and bottom of society. There are far more men who are homeless, who are killed in war, who languish in prison, and who die on the job than men who are CEOs, politicians, and so forth.
You hate all men because a few men are at the top, but you don’t feel compassion for men for the huge numbers of men who are at the bottom. To you, the world revolves around your vulnerabilities, your suffering, your experiences.
THAT is why you are a Feminist. And for no other reason. Well, a lot of people have hard enough of your way of thinking. A lot of people are ready for the idea that both sexes have issues of concern, and – crazy idea! – they always have.

Name calling, nice way to start the conversation. False accusations are less than 5% of all rape charges. Those are actual charges, many are not even charged. I do not know a single woman that hasn’t experienced sexual abuse at some level, and we already know that it’s vastly underreported.
If you are mugged, or car-jacked the crime is investigated – not the background of the victim. Rape shield laws are in place due to decades long horrific treatment of rape victims. No one should be jailed for a crime they didn’t commit, but a single case, or a handful of cases does not outweigh the intent and reason for the Shield law.

False accusations range from anywhere from 8 to 90%. No one knows the exact number. Many law enforcement experts, including prosecutors such as Craig Silverman who have made careers out of jailing rapists, place the rate of false accusations around 40%.
In conclusion, we don’t know how many there are. Just like we don’t know how many rapes there are. But we know there is enough of both for them to be a problem, and that victims of both types of crimes – not just one – deserve our compassion and support.
Now THAT’S a progressive and egalitarian approach!
