‘Gay’ Banned From Coca-Cola Website

You can type the name of someone you want to share a Coke with on their website unless the name is “Gay.” And Coca-Cola is downplaying its role in sponsoring the Sochi Olympics, which is rare for such an international brand. But, in the meantime, make sure that you don’t share a Coke with anyone who has “Gay” as part of his or her name.

That brings up an error message: “Oops. Let’s pretend you didn’t just type that. Please try another name.” (Sorry Marcia Gay Harding, Gay Talese and Randall Gay)

“Hetero” and “Straight” are cool though.
