George Will Criticizes State Of Union Speech Two Days Before It Happens

George Will has decided that President Obama’s yearly State of the Union speech is designed to distract the country from his failings. This is odd, given that it is a yearly event that hasn’t yet happened. Perhaps Will thinks the president should cancel the address; or just talk about all the terrible things he’s done for the country.  This is another example of Obama derangement syndrome. It doesn’t matter what he does: he can’t do it right according to his detractors.

During a Fox News Sunday panel discussion on the president’s annual address to Congress, Will seemed pleased that the country would finally be able to see what he called the president’s “shrinkage” — belying one of Will’s more latent complexes.

Host Chris Wallace asked Will how much of President Obama’s State of the Union focus on income inequality “is just about the president trying to change the subject and trying to change the American people’s attention from Obamacare and all the problems with that to the subject that worked so well for him in 2012, which was the middle class and building these ladders of opportunity?”

“It’s a lot of changing the subject, but what kind of a ladder is he going to build?” Will wondered.

Must be that Will got an advance copy of a speech that hasn’t see its final draft yet.
