The 47-year-old daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney is running on a staunchly conservative platform and her views against same-sex marriage were slammed by her younger sister’s wife, Heather Poe, who called Liz Cheney’s views “offensive” in a Facebook post criticizing her sister-in-law.

Mary and Liz’s father, Dick Cheney, has said the family is “pained” at the tension created over the issue.
