New York Possibly Next Up To Legalize Medical Marijuana

New York City officials are proposing it in the state legislature.

Two city lawmakers — Sen. Diane Savino (D-S.I.) and Assemblyman Richard Gottfried (D-Manhattan) — introduced a bill Tuesday that would allow pot to be used as medicine.

“We felt it was important to get the bill in so we could start the discussion,” said Savino, who is pushing for a vote on the measure before the end of the Legislature’s session in June.

Governor Cuomo has spoken out against legalizing medical marijuana.
