Police Inform Mother Son Is Dead–On Facebook

The police never tried to call or visit the Atlanta woman about the death of her 30-year-old son.

Anna Lamb-Creasey had been calling hospitals and jails for weeks, searching for her son Rickie, who went missing on January 25.

She even posted a message on his Facebook page that read, ‘Rickie, where are you? Love mom.’

Information to call the police came via a profile page named “Misty Hancock.”

But Clayton County police said they made every effort to contact the family by phone. They said they called the home phones at several addresses and never could reach anyone.

They said they aren’t sure why Misty Hancock’s Facebook account was used, however, and they are looking into it.

Lamb-Creasey said the least that officers could have done is contact her through an official police department Facebook page, instead of through the ‘Misty Hancock’ profile.
