Rick Perry: Boy Scouts Should Keep No-Gay Policy
Texas Governor Rick Perry says the Scouts should keep it’s policy of not accepting gays.
The Republican addressed an annual gathering of Scouts from around Texas on Saturday. Asked about the policy afterward, he said “I think most people see absolutely no reason to change” it.
Perry’s 2008 book “On My Honor” details his love for the Scouts and why the group should continue to embrace conservative values. Profits from it went to the Boy Scouts of America Legal Defense since “they continue to be under attack from the forces of secularism.”
