Cataloguing Romney’s Lies On The Libya Tragedy

Tommy Christopher sums up how it’s not just horrible politics that Romney displayed, but outright lying.

Romney…broadened his accusation to include “the President and his administration,” accusing them of having “done something which is inconsistent with the principles of America, and that “having that embassy reiterate a statement effectively apologizing for the right of free speech is not the right course for an administration.

The meat of Romney’s attacks on President Obama rely on the spurious notion that any official at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo is somehow the same thing as “the Obama administration,” a claim which, on its own, falls just short to asking President Obama to own every statement ever made by anyone who has worked with Kevin Bacon…

He also misleads when he says “the administration”was wrong to “stand by” a statement by the embassy, when he was actually referring to a tweet by the embassy standing by its own statement after the protests began, and flat-out lies when he says the embassy did so “instead of condemning (the protesters’) actions.”
