Romney Campaign Statement: Would Not Oppose Abortion After Rape

After the comments regarding rape, pregnancy, and abortion by Missouri’s GOP Senate challenger Todd Akin, Romney campaign spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg said, “Gov. Romney and Congressman (Paul) Ryan disagree with Mr. Akin’s statement, and a Romney-Ryan administration would not oppose abortion in instances of rape.”

Akin has tried to reel back his comments given in Sunday’s radio interview; he claims he “misspoke” but doesn’t identify which of his points were inaccurate.
