Latest Romney Gaffe: Forced To Cancel Israeli Fundraising Dinner Scheduled For Solemn Jewish Holiday

The dinner was scheduled for Tish B’av, a Jewish day of fasting to remember Holocaust victims and the destruction of the first and second Jerusalem temples. Romney’s team knew about the holiday because the invitation read, “Dietary laws will be observed. Refreshments will not be served until after the fast.” But they didn’t foresee that fundraising on such a solemn occasion would be insulting to his host country.
