Star Of Romney Ad Objecting To Government Help Received Government Help

Political Wire has the goods on Jack Gilchrist of Gilchrist Metal Fabricating, who wants you to know that it was he and his family, not the government, and certainly not Barack Obama, that built his company. But he received $800,000 to get his business off the ground, as the Union Leader reports: “In 1999, Gilchrist Metal received $800,000 in tax-exempt revenue bonds issued by the New Hampshire Business Finance Authority ‘to set up a second manufacturing plant and purchase equipment to produce high definition television broadcasting equipment,’ according to a New Hampshire Union Leader report at the time.”

Here is the misleading ad that once again takes President Obama’s statement out of context.
