Romney In 2007 Repeatedly Criticized Those Who Attacked President’s Foreign Policy

Mitt Romney attacked the president’s Syria policy tonight (even though it’s not different than his own), but he had a different tactic in 2007 when there was a president of his own party.

  • Romney in 2007:Politics should end at the water’s edge. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid shouldn’t be going to Syria.
  • Romney in 2007:The President leads our foreign policy. You don’t have two people conducting separate foreign policies.
  • Romney in 2007 on this attacking Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld: “I don’t think pointing fingers at individuals is a productive exercise.”

His “water’s edge” comment occurred on a TV show I’m familiar with:
