Attorney General Holder Voted In Contempt Of Congress
Seventeen Democrats joined with Republicans to make Eric Holder the first sitting cabinet member to be voted in contempt of Congress. Most House Democrats walked out of the chamber in protest. Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the vote “an abuse of power,” and believes it is an attempt to stop the attorney general from pursuing voter ID laws that Republicans are enacting to keep certain voters from the polls.
