Donald Trump Doubles Down On Birther Claims

The Donald went on CNBC to reiterate his birther claims, to further attack George Will, and to say he’ll put $5-10 million into a Super PAC.

Trump says, “His mother was never in the hospital; they don’t even know which hospital it was; his grandmother said he was born in Kenya…I’ve been known as being a very smart guy for a long time…The press refuses to cover it.” Trump contends Obama is hiding his college transcripts because it would reveal his place of birth.

The myth that Obama’s grandmother claims he was born in Kenya has been debunked, as has the claim that no hospital has been properly identified. The president was born at Hawaii’s Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital.
