Marching in in Sanford, Florida, local and national civil rights leaders called Saturday for the arrest of George Zimmerman.

Saturday’s rally was one of a series of ongoing events around the globe seeking justice for Martin and his family. Some of the speakers called Martin’s death a murder, and most of them said it was another example of racial profiling that resulted in tragedy for an African-American.

Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton and Seminole County NAACP President Turner Clayton were among the leaders urging for an immediate arrest of Zimmerman. They also opposed Florida’s “stand your ground” law that allows people to use deadly force in self-defense.

Sharpton said he has not asked for any boycott of Sanford or other area businesses, but urged his followers to target the businesses and organizations who support the stand your ground law. Sharpton said vigilantism has resulted from the law.
