Three-Way Race In The South

Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Mitt Romney are all vying for Alabama and Mississippi votes.

Returns from the first 5 percent of Mississippi’s precincts showed both Romney and Santorum with 32 percent support to 29 percent for Gingrich.

The first Alabama returns favored Santorum, who was pulling 33 percent of the vote. Romney had 32 percent and Gingrich 27 percent.
