Three Chicago teens are being charged with a hate crime after it was revealed they tried to hang a black student who attended their high school.

The three students from Chicago’s Brother Rice High School are alleged to have used a noose, called the boy the N-word, while threatening him with a knife…

Matthew Herrmann, an 18-year-old graduate of Brother Rice High School, is now facing felony charges for an alleged hate crime.

Herrmann, and two other boys, 16 and 17 years old, lured the victim to one of their homes in the Beverly neighborhood and tried to put a noose around his neck while calling him the N-word – all because one of the suspects, according to police, wanted the victim to stop talking to his female cousin, who is white.
