Pat Robertson Outraged By Saturday Night Live’s “Anti-Christian Bigotry”

Pat Robertson objected to Saturday Night Live’s sketch where Jesus tells Tim Tebow to “take it down a notch.”

“There’s an anti-Christian bigotry that is just disgusting and I think Saturday Night Live did a parody of that, had Jesus come in,” Robertson fumed. “If this had been a Muslim country and they had done that, and had Muhammad doing that stuff, you would have found bombs being thrown off!”

“And bodies on the street!” interjected co-anchor Terry Meeuwsen. “And bodies on the street!” Robertson repeated. “And we think it’s okay.”

But it’s okay to attack “Muslim” countries, apparently. The fact is, we are not a country where bombs go off when satire is performed. Furthermore, this sketch mocks not Jesus, but those who misuse Him. Tim Tebow has become a self-parody, and does the opposite of what Jesus preached. In Matthew 6:6 Jesus says, “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”  In other words, no Tebowing.
