Probably thinking it was just good, clean American fun, Loudoun County, VA Republicans took the low road in a Halloween mailer.

The Loudoun County GOP promotes the event as a “fun and great way to represent our candidates” before next week’s legislative elections, but Democrats complain the image of the president with a hole in his head goes over the line.

“This is a disgusting and violent portrayal of the President of the United States. Party leaders including Pat Mullins, Bob McDonnell, Ken Cuccinelli and Bill Bolling should condemn it, and the local Republican officials should apologize, if not be removed from their posts,” said Virginia Democratic Party spokesman Brian Coy.

Virginia GOP chairman Pat Mullins issued a strongly worded statement condemning the email and indicated that party officials are in the process of investigating who is responsible for it.
