Dear Michele,

According to the Federal Election Committee, President Obama raised $532,946,511 for the 2008 election. And in case you’re having problems with the commas, that’s 500 million and change. If by some chance you get the Republican nod, you’re going to have to come up with at least that.

But as every thinking person knows, you haven’t a prayer. Obama will school you in 2012. It’s equivalent to a match-up between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Hebrew school basketball team I played for when I was twelve.

Which brings me to my simple point: give the money to charity. Imagine the lives you’d impact if you instructed your supporters to donate hundreds of millions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital?

But every time you open your mouth, you continue to confirm that you only care about one person. And no, that person isn’t Jesus.

Please do the right thing,

Gabe Berman

P.S. “Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of god.”
