Conservative Reps Come Out Against Boehner Plan

House Speaker John Boehner’s problem is with his own party’s right wing. Conservatives don’t like what he’s doing.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio, pictured), who stood — visibly uncomfortable — next to House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) during Monday’s announcement of the plan, released a statement saying he would vote “no” on the measure…

Conservative lawmakers Reps. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) and Tim Huelskamp (R-Kan.) also came out against Boehner’s plan.

Jordan is holding out for a balanced budget amendment, and he and other conservative lawmakers continue to push for Cut, Cap and Balance, even though these measures have no chance of passing the Senate.

House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) declined to say in Monday’s press conference whether he can get a majority of the caucus behind the plan, and invited Democrats to join the effort in passing the plan.

Say what? You want Democrats to get behind the Boehner plan? Good luck!
