Newt Gingrich Praises The House Un-American Activities Committee

Newt Gingrich appeared on radio with me Thursday night and I asked him about comments he made during the last presidential debate where he seconded Herman Cain’s notion that we need to watch Muslims more closely by saying, “We did this in dealing with the Communists.” Gingrich reiterated that, adding, “We need more rigorous security procedures.”

Colmes: Do you believe the House Un-American Activities Commitee was a good idea?

Gingrich: I think it was when it was when it was created, absolutely.
