Congressman Trent Franks: Obama Won’t do What’s Necessary To Protect America

Less than a week after the killing of Osama bin Laden, a cadre of crazed ideologues can’t stop making the phony argument that President Obama can’t and won’t protect America. Congressman Trent Franks, appearing on radio with Frank Gaffney, asserts that Obama is exploiting bin Laden’s death for political purposes and won’t “do what’s necessary to protect this country.”

FRANKS: I’m afraid that this administration somehow now will declare the peace dividend and really just exploit the issue for political reasons and not really have the insight to do what’s necessary to protect this country in the future because we still have an Iran that is on the cusp of gaining nuclear weapons capability, we still have terrorists all over the world that are steeped in this ideology, we still have the potential of radical Islamists in the Pakistani military appropriating nuclear weapons and passing that along to terrorists.

This is the same Trent Franks who said if Obama is reelected president, he wasn’t sure the country could survive, and who would like to see the president impeached because of his stand on the Defense of Marriage Act.
