Former Republican Utah Senator Robert Bennett, a staunch conservative deemed too liberal for the tea party, has no abiding love for the institution he left. Speaking to Margaret Carlson at Business Week, Bennett is free from the shackles of political spin.  (via Taegan Goddard)

“I’d gotten tired of being told to plot against Democrats to make them look bad, to drop my health-care bill with Ron Wyden,” the Democratic senator from Oregon. “The games were getting old.”

Clearly the Republican Party of today is not the one Bennett represented during his 18 years on the Hill.
