I’m always suspicious of those who switch political parties because one person in their party says or does something they don’t like; those who, for instance, decided they had to become Republicans because Bill Clinton soiled the Oval Office rug; or sudden John McCain supporters when Hillary lost the Democratic primary to Obama.  Now, Michele Bachmann reveals she used to be a Democrat until the day she witnessed Gore Vidal besmirch the founding fathers. What he’s writing about, this mocking of people that I revere, and the country that I love, and that I would lay my life down to defend…I knew that that was not representative of my country. And at that point I put the book down… I looked out the window and I said, ‘You know what? I think I must be a Republican. I don’t think I’m a Democrat.'”
